Kizzy Crawford began her solo career in 2012 at age 15. She performs a truly unique blend of jazz, folk, soul and funk and is a composer, multi-instrumentalist & producer. The 27 year old singer-songwriter from South Wales released her debut album via Freestyle Records in 2019 and received funding from the PRS Women in Music fund to promote & tour the album. In 2021, Kizzy released her debut Welsh language album ‘Rhydd’ via Sain records.

Kizzy’s music has received support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 2, 6Music, Jazz FM, BBC Radio 4, BBC 3 and BBC Radio Wales & Radio Cymru and her single Progression was added to Jo Whiley & Simon Mayo’s ‘drivetime’ show playlist on BBC Radio 2 and it also featured on Craig Charles album ‘Funk & Soul Club Volume 6’. Kizzy has performed live on BBC Radio 4 several times including for Woman’s Hour, at BBC Maida Vale and for BBC Radio 3 where she performed on ‘The Verbs’ young talent programme.

Kizzy has performed at many festivals in the UK & Europe including Glastonbury, Festival No 6, L’Orient, How The Lights Get In, Celtic Connections, Womex, London Jazz Festival, Hay Festival, Cambridge Folk, Cheltenham Jazz, Blissfields, Greenman & Cornbury Festival and she has performed in Canada at The Prince Edward Island Festival and more recently, at M for Montreal thanks to support from PRS Foundation.

Kizzy has performed at many high profile venues & events including the National Assembly for Wales, at the Plaid Cymru Conference, Abergavenny Food Festival (where she performed her single Golden Brown live on BBC Radio 4). She has also performed as support artist for Omar Lye-Fook, Gruff Rhys, Newton Faulkner, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and has performed alongside Joss Stone, Bryn Terfel with BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and Cerys Matthews at the House of Commons, Westminster. Kizzy has also played small roles in TV including PC Emma Jones in BBC 1’s Keeping Faith (alongside Eve Myles) and the the main character in Tipini for Cyw on S4C.

Kizzy joined the BDi Music publishing family in 2014 and a few years later, five of her songs were selected as set works as part of the WJEC A Level Music syllabus, she sits in the contemporary music section next to renowned artists/bands Gruff Rhys, The Manics and the Super Furry Animals.

In 2017, Kizzy co-wrote new music with jazz pianist & composer Gwilym Simcock for the collaborative project Birdsong-Can Yr Adar which toured throughout Wales and at London Jazz Festival. The recording was later released by Basho Records in 2018.  Birdsong was based on the Celtic Rainforest of Carngafallt and the project was in partnership with Sinfonia Cymru, RSPB Cymru & Arts Council of Wales.

Recent theatre performances include the title role in the Award winning ‘Petula’ for National Theatre Wales & Whimsy for Theatr Genedlaethol. Kizzy is currently working on new music and hopes to release her third album in 2023. Kizzy also enjoys composing bespoke music for television, film, adverts and documentaries, recent work includes composing the music for the BBC Radio Documentary ‘June: Voice of a Silent Twin’ and ‘Complexity of Skin’, a short Film for BBC. Other composition work includes 2 seasons of music for TIPINI,  a Welsh language Children’s show for S4C, Simple Acts for National Theatre Wales and Death of a Fool for Welsh National Opera.
